Soursop, yellow maddening to green,
resolute berry that knocks the ground,
hard stars falling from August trees.
Sour-hearted pulp, locked in green
for obstinate weeks. Then, scent; seeds
jingle; custard’s plush in the mouth.
Sweetsop changed to purple-green,
gone strange: soft fruit, nocked ground.
